		<description>I see the innkeeper&#039;s motivation as being the greatest motivator of them all: money. People love his brews, and that&#039;s good enough. Of course, you could make him a cannibal or something, which would help explain how he discovered his talents, but I don&#039;t think that&#039;s really necessary.

What would be interesting in your hydra poison idea above is if he miscalculated and killed a bunch of people on accident... and then the PCs caught some heat for it. He could lay the blame on them, or the authorities might just find out that they helped him get the poison and go after them on their own.</description>

One possible story hook is that the innkeeper wants something dangerous. Hydra poison, say, of which even a single drop could be used to add flavour to an immense amount of consumables.
Maybe the players will do deed. What if the next task is a bit more grissly? How long will they go hunting whatever the innkeeper wants, even if compensated significantly?
