Savage Hounds

The Quainsbrook hounds have stats based on the dog/wolf stats on page 146 of Savage Worlds Explorers Edition, except as noted below.

All Quainsbrook hounds are fanatically brave and loyal. They get a +4 bonus on any guts rolls for dangers which also threaten their owners.

The kennel at Quainsbrook typically has 10-15 hounds available for purchase at any given time. Draw cards to determine the special qualities of each individual dog, as follows:

0-1 exceptional dog, draw 3 cards. This dog costs 5 times as much as the others.
1-2 amazing dogs, draw 2 cards. These dogs cost twice as much as the others.
8-12 standard dogs, draw 1 card.

Each card confers the following bonuses to that dog:

A: This dog is exceptionally large. Increase its size by 1.
K: This dog is exceptionally intelligent. Increase its intelligence by one die. It is very easy to teach tricks to it.
Q: This dog is exceptionally fast. Increase its pace and agility by one die each.
J: This dog is exceptionally strong. Increase its strength by one die.
10: This dog is exceptionally tough. Increase its vigor by one die.
9: This dog is an especially aggressive fighter. Increase its fighting die by one type.
6-8: This dog is exceptionally loyal and friendly, even for a Quainsbrook hound. Increase its spirit and guts by one die each.
2-5: This dog has been trained for hunting. It gains a d6 in tracking, or if it already has tracking increase that by one die.
Joker: Draw two more cards. This doesn’t increase the price of the dog.
