Encounter-a-Day

Here’s a couple of encounters with a common theme: the PCs find a list with their names on it and no explanation.

The PCs stumble upon the body of a dwarf in an alleyway. Dwarves are uncommon in this area, and he wears traveling clothing. No cause of death is apparent, but a look of terrible and profound fright is frozen on the dwarf’s features. Clenched in his cold, dead hands is a paper, and on that paper are the names of each of the PCs. Next to each name is the PC’s astrological sign.

Shortly after leaving a town, the PCs find a piece of paper caught in a tree next to the path, flapping in the breeze. On the paper is a list of 10 names, each with a location. The first six names are all crossed out; the seventh name is one of the PCs, and the location next to his name is the inn which the PCs just left. None of the PCs recognize the other names on the list.
