In fact, the only thing off the top of my head currently available with a "summoning"-like effect is a ring (Purple Commander's Ring?) in the Bazaar of the Bizarre, which creates a phantom that stays with you and attacks people. 2. I just don't think you could give out an extra character as treasure. In fact, I strongly suspect that any real summoning is only going to summon minions. You're probably best off using the ideas presented with the mount rules in the DMG; give the party a voidwalker, and treat it as if it was another character. It takes a full share of the exp, and it counts as another character when planning your exp budget. I’m not really sure I follow you… You want to give them a voidwalker, or give them something which summons a voidwalker?
