In a few days after I've given bugs with the compendium importer a chance to crop up and be squished, I'll release a standalone executable.

The ClickOnce is installation is kind of weird. You can't find it because it doesn't actually install itself the way a normal application would. It's all managed by the .Net Framework and honestly I don't understand the process myself completely.

It is designed specifically, however, to limit its footprint on your system and to be uninstalled cleanly.

So, its neat, but I have to say tha tI hate, hate HATE the online install process.

I cannot stand an install process that does not give ME the choice where to install. Worse yet I don't even think this is an install, just some kind of online application loader. Where is the executable file running from exactly? It sure isn't from a directory that I picked, is it my temporary files, if it is what happens when I clear those on out and I don't have an internet connection later?

I quite frankly prefer a compressed file, rather than having to worry about some .NET 3.5 framework install, and then not actually known where the program goes or what other files it may be using on my system.

Brett’s last blog post..I’m a Fighter

That is IT. This has convinced me to start paying for an Insider subscription, about which I was somewhat on the fence.

Wizards should pay you an affiliate fee :)
